In the lead-up to International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, The Orangery hosted an International Women’s Day Business Breakfast in partnership with Central District Alliance, Sodexo, Dress for Success and UK BlackTech. The event brought together business leaders and experts to explore practical ways organisations can better support women in the workplace. Discussions focused on key topics including women’s health challenges, managing extended absences, and the role of innovative digital solutions in creating more inclusive economic opportunities.

Speakers including Dr Bethan Jones, Dr Julie Hammond and Angela Thomas shared thoughtful insights and practical ideas for supporting women’s health and wellbeing at work. Ruth Duston OBE, Founder and CEO of Primera Corporation, offered valuable perspectives on the realities of women in leadership and the journeys many take to reach senior roles. She highlighted the importance of actively supporting and investing in women as they progress into leadership positions. It was a privilege to host such influential voices advocating for meaningful change and greater inclusivity in business.
The Orangery was proud to be part of this initiative, which encourages collaboration between businesses, communities and individuals to drive positive change.
